Overview
LubeSite 704 (factory description: 4 OZ HIGH TEMP. METAL BASE). LubeSite refillable single-point grease feeders: a spring-loaded piston pushes grease through a tapered metering rod into one bearing, feeding only while the bearing turns.

What You'll Also Need
- Adapter if the bearing hole is not 1/8" NPT: 20-1 straight 1/4"-28, U104B1 bushing 1/4" NPT, U1103A 45 deg, U1104AS or 27718 90 deg [L713 p.26].
- Extension kit 37704 for remote mounting up to 6 ft (200/300/500 Series); an extra-heavy orange spring may be needed [L713 p.8, p.22].
- LubeLine refill kit: 10 ft of tube to refill a hard-to-reach unit [L713 p.14].
Before You Order
- Built for steel mills, foundries, lumber kilns, glass plants and heat-treating; the blue/silver/red/orange 200-500 Series springs are not listed for the 704 [DS 35704; L713 p.9].
- Size by shaft and speed: shaft up to 1-1/2" = 1 oz under 2500 rpm, 2 oz over; larger shafts use 2 oz or 6 oz. Do not oversize [L713 p.9].
- Spring by bearing temperature and NLGI grade; medium spring is right for most (e.g. 60-80 F with NLGI 2) [L713 p.8-9].
- Tighten hand-tight only. Do not overfill - over-pressure can separate the top from the base [DS 35700 p.2].
- Clean the dome with mild detergent only, never solvents; full clean about once a year [L713 p.7].
Choosing Between Options
- 200 Series (clear polycarbonate base): static housings only. 300 Series (aluminum base): vibration, impact, high torque [L713 p.8].
- 500 Series (nickel-chrome base, chemical-resistant Viton): corrosive, chemical and food plants. 704: ambient up to 450 F [L713 p.8].
- For a BSPT thread order the same number with BSP suffix (e.g. 205 BSP); 704 is 1/8" NPT only [DS 35700 p.4; DS 35704].
